About the Author
Anthony Bruno, CCIE No. 2738, is a Consulting Director with BT with more than 20 years of experience in the internetworking field. Previously, he worked for International Network Services, Lucent Technologies, and as a captain in the U.S. Air Force. His other industry certifications include CCDP, PMP, CCNP Security, Cisco Certified Business Value Practitioner, Cisco Data Center Network Infrastructure Specialist, Cisco Security Solutions & Design Specialist, and ITILv3 Foundation. He has consulted for many enterprise and service provider customers in the design, implementation, and optimization of large-scale networks. Anthony leads architecture and design teams in building nextgeneration networks for his customers. He completed his Master of Science in Electrical Engineering at the University of Missouri—Rolla in 1994 and his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering at the University of Puerto Rico—Mayaguez in 1990. He is also a part-time instructor for the University of Phoenix—Online, teaching networking courses.

He has extensive experience in data center architecture and design and has implemented solutions in many financial, energy, retail, healthcare, education, and telecommunications industries. Steve is a 10-Year triple CCIE in the tracks of Routing & Switching, Storage Networking, and Data Center. His other certifications include VMware VCIX-NV, VCP-NV, VCP4-DCV, VCP5-DCV, CCDP, CCNP, ACI-SE, and ACI-FE.

but so far I like what I'm seeing

I haven't finished the book yet, but so far I like what I'm seeing. Using the book paired with the Pearson IT Certification online content is a must. You'll get access to study planners and review materials. Also, the book comes with a 70% off discount code for the premium edition of the book which includes a PDF version and an extra 2 practice tests in the Pearson practice test software.

Not a great book. Lots of mistakes

Not a great book. Lots of mistakes, repeated sections and the information is presented in a very unorganized way. It jumps around a lot, will use acronyms for which no definition is provided until 4 sections later. 50% of the questions at the end of the chapters are TERRIBLE, the other 50% are just ok.
With all that said, I don't think there is a better book to use. Go through each section carefully and plan to have to go back after you've read each chapter to try to put together the bigger picture. Research the sections you are unclear about using other resources. It will help a lot.
Very disappointed in this book.
For reference, I read the whole book, went back and reviewed and passed the test. But at no point did I feel confident in the book.

Looking for something more

Currently there are one a few books available for the CCDA (200-310). While this is the best one on the market, its lacking in the information provided. The material jumps all over the place. Countless times the book will repeat a complete section within a page or two of each other. While repeating itself might drive home the information, I find it simply fluff to make the book bigger. I am currently looking for additional material to use as I pursue my CCDA and CCDP.
