I've been awakened too

I truly enjoyed this book. It had me from the beginning. Kennedy is a no nonsense take no prisoners kind of woman. I found myself reflecting with her. Looking back at the past mistakes of previous relationships and the men who should not have gotten past security. Because I was totally right there with her on the being guarded front, I found myself asking "well hell, have I missed something real because I have the perimeter wall, castle moat, and armed guards protecting my castle?"
I took the journey with her. She was impenetrable until Javier came and found the crack with his blunt words of truth. The truth they say will set you free, and he definitely did for her.
Javier, Javier, Javier!
Oh man. I thought Gavin from Special De livery was my one then Rush from Rapture came and Gavin went to the left with his UPS boxes. But Javier Zamora... (having a moment of silence for the death of Rush in my heart). Javi Papi - yaaassssss! He the one. Straight talk no bull all day with that mouth and later on he uses it to play.

The story began slowly but it picked up as I continued to read. Kennedy is every woman… we have all been hurt and all carry our baggage, some days the load may be heavier than the day before. Kennedy has tried relationships that have gone awry and then has tried the friends with benefits deal and it too left her wanting more. Javier had to come in and stir some things up and hurt a lot of feelings just to get Kennedy to realize she was going to miss out on a good man all because she wouldn’t let the past be the past. Javier isn’t one to mix words so when he first meets Kennedy and she is a scorned woman, he politely informs her that she needs to get it together. Initially Kennedy doesn’t appreciate Javier’s mouth but as the story goes on, she loves how he lifts her up.

Honeyyy you did the da** thing. Perri has a way with words. She will have you so intrigued and will pull you in with just her words. Kennedy represents a lot of women who have been hurt and let there bitterness take over. Im glad she is letting those walls down. I'm glad she found Javier. He is a man's man. I think I love him lol. I don't know where Perri finds these guys from but I want in I loved the story from beginning to end. Perri is definitely becoming one of my favs. I only had one problem with this book it was to short. I need more!! If you haven't read a Perri Forrest or Xuri Foxx book you are missing out! Go ahead and one click this banger you will not be disappointed.
