Esta es una novela bien organizada.

Esta novela me parece que est� bien organizada. Tiene una secuencia cronol�gica y es f�cil de entender.
Narra la vida de Jesusa Palancares y su participaci�n en la revoluci�n mexicana.
Es la historia de una mujer pobre sin amor a los bienes materiales, que a pesar que tiene la oportunidad de poseerlos, siempre elige vivir el d�a a d�a; donde nunca sabe si tendr� para comer al d�a siguiente.
Su narraci�n transporta al lector a la vida en M�xico durante los a�os revolucionarios, narrando las injusticias sociales desde el punto de vista de una campesina analfabeta. Pero trabajadora y decidida a salir adelante a pesar de las circunstancias.
Jesusa representa el estereotipo de la mujer mexicana de principios de siglo.Una mujer muy orgullosa, trabajadora, leal y sencilla.
La novela tambi�n muestra la realidad social vivida, debido a los conflictos armados y la inestabilidad de una naci�n en crisis.
Esta novela maneja un lenguaje t�pico de las �reas rurales mexicanas que prevalece hasta hoy d�a, y que no aparece en el diccionario. Un aporte significativo a esta pubicaci�n definitivamente ser�a, incluir un glosario de estas palabras, como parte de la publicaci�n. A story without a major story line, but keeps you engaged

Elena is a modern writer. This is surprising considering that writing about soldaderas with native Mexican jargon could be considered a different type of literature. How to classify this type of literature? Elena's novel is unique. Great reading if you want to understand a very particular part of the Mexican culture and the women struggle in a society that is male-dominated.
